Meditation Art Portfolio: Buddha Brothers Gallery

Welcome to my Buddha Brothers

Many of these images are directly inspired by traditional Buddha icons. Others are simply meditating males that are siblings of my Serenity Sisters. Like the Sisters, they speak to a universal pull we all have to be serene and peaceful.

We live in a busy, frantic world that does not encourage us to live from a place of calm serenity. Yet, it is possible. A Buddha Brother can offer assistance. Living with a Brother is an on going reminder to turn off the media noise and listen to the still quiet voice within.

“Purchasing a Buddha Brother was a wise investment in my health. I am calmed and uplifted by his presence daily”
-- J.T. Palm Desert, CA

"Whenever I view my Buddha Brother painting I am touched by his serene knowing expression. He inspires me to look inside myself for the answers to life's hardest questions."
-- J.G. Portland, OR

Before beginning a Buddha Brother I ask Spirit to guide me. I then trust I will be shown how the brother would like to manifest.

Usually, a Buddha Brother image is started by covering my canvas with torn newspaper. Besides being an act of recycling, this gives depth and texture. It is also symbolic of the constant information demanding our attention each day.

The image is gradually developed using acrylic paints, oil crayons, art papers, and fabrics. Some layers become obliterated while others remain in the final composition. The faces are executed with a simplicity of line that conveys both strength and stillness. They are depicted with their eyes closed as they are listening to their still, quiet voice within.
